Alright. First of all i like the overall dark and agressive athmosphere this creates. I can vividly imagine goths in realy high plateau boots dancing their lovably weird walk-dance to this song. On a second thought, this kind of dance might have its root in courtly dances of the baroque period. The shoeware was equally limiting to movement. But i digress, sorry.
What i dislike is the over-use of arpeggiators which i consider lack of music theory knowlede or just plain lazyness. Also the arpeggiated synth is too bleepy (no better word to describe it right now) and detuned so it began to grate on my nerves towards the end. On the other hand, that might just be the effect you were aiming for, seeing that this is about zombie apocalyptic stuff! It also wakes associations to sackpipes and generally medieval music through the detuning, although i'm quite sure, that was NOT the effect you were aiming for :D
Now, on to the vocals and lyrics. I loved the way the vocals are processed. Unfortunately i don't have any experience in vocal producing as i keep my tunes mostly instrumental. What i can say though is that the distortion and delivery fit the topic of zombies really well. The lyrics complete the work of art and kinda reminded me of cannibal corpes minus some of the brutality.
Kudos (i know, no one says kudos anymore but whatever) for the distorted bass because i think it's not easy to musically use a bassdrum this heavily distorted but you pulled it off just well.
Good! 4 points :)

Yooooooooooo, thank you for the review!
I must admit I did go a little bit over-the-top with the Arpeggiated patches compared to alot of my other tracks which are predominantly lead-based in Nature but it's more to an addiction to actually designing the detuned bleepy-bloop sounds (I love them!) and manually designing the Arp sequencing step-by-step in Omnisphere but I must admit that once you mentioned about the sackpipes I have the thought stuck in my head about them haha.
Sadly I do partially disagree with your stance on Arp's being either lazy or theory-lacking in Nature, I think it's more situational to the needs of the user and just as theory-critical when designed from scratch and sequenced in manually (as opposed to the folks who load a factory preset arp and slap it in without a second thought haha).
I'm glad you like the vocal-work, there are quite a number of listeners who do like them and a fair amount which dislike it and usually ask me to tone them down so it gets pretty confusing as to what I end up doing with the processing in future projects D: - I just end up playing it safe though and carry on with how I feel they should sound for the track. Glad that you also like the atmosphere of the track and to be honest I secretly dance to these kind of tracks when no one's looking so I can see some remote connection to baroque dances within it (albeit more slowly haha) :)

Great song! I like your overall usage of timbre and bass. The voices mix quite nicely. Found the melody a little jumpy and there seems even to be a mistake in the lead strings but i couldn't be bothered to search out the exact measure. You can hear it quite well in the intro and ending, when the string melody plays with less accompaniment.

Nonetheless, it's a great tune! Keep it up :)

thnx for pointig that out, its my first try doing trap music so its filled with mistakes and what not, thank you for your review.

What i liked: the drum programming, the 808ish cowbell especiall (you seemed to have countered it with another cowbell in the intro), soulful but kinda hesitant melodie in the "improvisy" part, i call it. I hope you know which one i mean, because i am not going to list every minute and second a thing i noticed occured :) Also i liked the slight latin tinge that comes up through bassdrum syncopation.

What i did not like: Percussion is a little too busy in the first few seconds. The drum programming and especially the tom is very pop like. Too much for my taste and also it reminds me an awful lot of "The Bongo Song" (Played-A-Live) by safri duo, which is really old news. That song is still a kickass song though, admittedly and i would like to believe, you consciously gave tribute to it. What i also disliked is that all the sounds sound really unchanged and stock and i like to hear strange and seldomly/never before heard sounds.
I hope my sometimes garbled english was clear enough to you as i'm not a native speaker and would like to thank you for providing this piece of music for me to review.

xxxZigZagxxx responds:

thanks for the review! you've highlighted strengths and weaknesses of my song, which i really need to hear. thanks so much and wish you all the best! <3

Very nice! First i was tempted to not even hear it to completion but then the synth trumpet kicked in and played a pretty interesting solo. Very nice and vibrant harmonic overtones in the very last part. Like!

Canas responds:

Ah thank you! It's all space themed so I was hoping to capture that atmospheric essence. The solo is going to receive some attention prior to a proper release (might even detune a bit, add some filters or reverb or something). Thanks again for the kind words!

Some huge rap skills here. Fast and comprehensible and the lyrics are also very creative. The -0.5 in rating is for the sound of the voices, not what they do. The voices just sound a little too "normal" but it's better than bending your voice in weird ways i guess.
The beat is kind of flawless for this kind of music. I like the psychedelic bits a lot :)

Canas responds:

Thanks for the kind words! I guess my only response in regards to our voices is that yes, we are in fact "normal" people! Hence we sound normal! Naturally our flow, diction, and delivery will change dramatically depending on the song. We've got a few more coming out soon and I'm sure you'll hear the difference :P

I have to agree with Segathi. The bass was indeed nice, but the bass was pretty much the only good thing about the song. The sounds all sound very stock and very common. You should have changed them up a little more. The Bassdrum for example has horrible mids that should have been eq-ed down a little. Also it becomes rhythmically unclear later on. I think your 2 and 4 turned to feel more like the 1 and 3, but maybe i just heard it wrong. All in all i have to say that it's not a masterpiece :(

celldamage responds:

What do you mean by 2 and 4 and so on?

This sounds like a clever mixture of the Game of Thrones Intro or something similar and especially like some Halo music. A bit too simplistic and kitschie, which takes off 0,5 of my rating. I hope you'll be fine with that. :)

ChrisisD responds:

You're probably right by that. It is simplistic, it is what I needed it to be ;-) The past upload and this one are in a process of being turned into a short story. So it's background music really and for the sounds/feelings they portray they're exactly what I need. But yeah, Halo is in there most definitely. I thank you for your review! Much appreciated!

It is absolutely catchy and relatively well instrumented. The indefinable Horns were kinda goofy and the Bassdrum is really eq-ed in a weird way. Other than that it's a really great Song! :)

SourJovis responds:

Good to hear you think it's catchy, and you like it overall. It's probably the effects on the bass drum you don't like. It's routed through a bass guitar amplifier to give it more power. I thought the jazz brass instruments made the song much more funky and interesting. I thought about puting brass on more sections on the song, but it may be a good thing I didn't. Anyway, the brass turned out the way I thought it up in my head, and it's quite memorable, so to me it's not indefinable. The game is also quite goofy, so I suppose it fits anyway. Thanks for sharing your opinion. I don't think I will do much with it, but perhaps later.
